Writing

Writing was a large part of my academic and professional career. Along with my countless research papers, treatments, and proposals I also tutor writing privately and at Quinnipiac University’s Learning Commons.

Additionally, I have a blog where I post about habits, productivity, wellness, and creativity. It is also home to posts for assignments from my Interactive Communications & Media master’s program.

White Paper

In the beginning of my graduate studies I delved into the world of Deep Work and researched how to work effectively in the field of documentary production. In 2021 I re-visited this paper and added new and updated insights in this blog post.

Film Analysis

While my personal and professional projects focus on nonfiction film, I still studied other film genres as a part of my film degree. This film analysis looks at Nicholas Ray’s On Dangerous Ground (1951) through the lens of typical Noir tropes and Ray’s unique take on the genre.

Documentary Research Proposal

My undergraduate minor was Asian Studies. The majority of my classes were in Japanese, but I also did an independent study to research Cambodian history and created a proposal for a documentary about the struggles of Cambodian-Americans.

Documentary Treatment

In 2018 I had planned on travelling to Bawa, Cameroon to create a documentary about The Bawa Health Initiative. Unfortunately because of the rising political conflicts it was no longer safe to travel there. I still have the treatment that I wrote, so I hope to put it to use one day!
